jervis bay known whale watching, because whale migration, both north , south, can observed animals pass entrance bay, entering sheltered waters rest. majority of whales sighted @ jervis bay humpbacks, migrate along australia s east coast june november. southern right whales showing slow steady increase in recent years re-colonize former habitats, having been extensively hunted in 19th , 20th centuries. other species sighted have been false killer whales, orcas, minke whales and, on 1 occasion, blue whale.
