in 2005 d aste competed proteam motorsport in bmw 320i, finishing third in independents trophy, second overall in second race @ spa-francorchamps best result. continued proteam in 2006, again finishing third in independents trophy, best overall finish of tenth.

wiechers-sport (2007) world independent trophy champion

for 2007, d aste moved wiechers-sport team, won yokohama world independents trophy in bmw 320si. best overall finish again tenth. won gold helmet, 1 of important awards during racing car drivers career.

in 2008 stayed in wtcc, returning proteam motorsport third season @ team. failed retain independents crown, finishing third in final standings. decided not attend final rounds in macau protest @ being given five-place grid penalty after incident @ previous round in japan. despite being in contention keep teammate sergio hernández taking title.

wiechers-sport (2009)

d aste competing in 2009 world touring car championship.

for 2009 d aste due continue in wtcc proteam, deal collapsed , returned instead wiechers-sport. finished season nineteenth in drivers standings best result of sixth @ race of germany.

scuderia proteam motorsport (2010)

in 2010, d aste returned third stint @ proteam. elected again miss season finale @ macau in order attend monza rally show, despite still being in contention independents trophy , leaving teammate hernandez proteam s title challenger. d aste ended season sixth in independents trophy , nineteenth in overall standings best finish of ninth @ 2010 fia wtcc race of czech republic. @ rally of monza got fantastic 4th place overall , first of gt cars @ wheel of lotus exige gt rally of pb racing team.

wiechers-sport , official lotus evora gt4 driver (2011–2012)

d aste returned wtcc midseason in 2011, replacing urs sonderegger @ wiechers-sport sixth round in portugal. qualified tenth , took benefit of race 2 reversed grid pole position on first outing under new qualifying rules. took first point of season team in race 1 finished out of points in second race. d aste missed next round of wtcc race in gt4 european cup – driving official lotus evora gianni giudici s eponymous team – returned rounds @ oschersleben , valencia. finished season 17th in overall standings, time best finish in wtcc despite having competed in 3 events. arrived third in european gt4 serie.

after selected outings in 2011, d aste returned wiechers-sport full season in 2012. d aste took first overall wtcc win @ salzburgring, series of punctures front wheel drive cars allowed him pass race leader robert huff @ last corner. fourth time in 2012, started reversed grid pole @ suzuka; led start finish claim second win of season ahead of independent rival pepe oriola , gabriele tarquini. d aste finished on podium once again @ race of china, finishing third behind chevrolet drivers huff , menu in race one. ran high second in race 2 drivers door on car stuck open , dropped down order. went race of macau in contention yokohama trophy, 15 points behind trophy leader norbert michelisz. qualified behind both rivals , caught in pileup @ lisboa corner on first lap, caused considerable damage d aste s car , retired on lap two. accident in race 2 meant scored no points meeting , remained third in yokohama trophy; although 2012 did mark best placing in overall championship far, seventh place. in 2012 took part first edition of rally of sebino @ wheel of lotus exige gt rally , first driver win race overall lotus exige 2wd competing s2000 4wd , wrc cars. great result.

pb racing (2013)

d aste established own team called pb racing 2013 season drive bmw 320 tc for. crashed out of first race of race of italy when spun on exit of ascari on lap 4 , hit barriers, skating on track , hitting barriers on other side before coming halt. started race 2 of grid, finished in 9th.
