early years
a wynnum manly seagulls junior, green captained queensland colts before winning brisbane rugby league s rothmans medal in 1993 while playing easts tigers.
cronulla-sutherland sharks
in 1994, green followed easts coach john lang sydney s cronulla-sutherland sharks, turning heads maturity , skill of play @ halfback. in rookie season in nswrl, green played 24 games. in 1995, backed solid debut season winning arl s prestigious rothmans medal award best , fairest player. following cronulla’s defection super league, green selected australia reserve in 1997 anzac test before representing queensland replacement in 3 super league tri-series matches. @ end of season, chosen halfback in return test against new zealand in september injury kept him out of australia’s tour of great britain. after missing 1 match in 4 seasons, serious shoulder injury restricted green 4 matches in 1998.
north queensland cowboys
in 1999, green joined north queensland cowboys , starting halfback of year. season became club s first state of origin representative, when selected queensland s halfback game 2 of series. in 2000, green fell out of favour coach tim sheens preferred halves partnership of scott prince , noel goldthorpe. despite this, green once again represented queensland. cowboys sacked green midway through season allegedly negotiating other clubs while still under contract. green subsequently win out-of-court settlement against club.
sydney roosters
in 2001, green returned sydney joining sydney roosters. season played 19 games, starting 17 of them @ halfback , earned origin recall, playing in 3 games in queensland s series win. in 2002, green injured knee in roosters opening game against south sydney rabbitohs, ruling him out whole of roosters premiership-winning season.
parramatta eels
in 2003, green joined parramatta eels. after starting first 7 games @ halfback, green suffered fractured cheekbone ended season.
brisbane broncos
green returned queensland in 2004, signing brisbane broncos. after spending of season in queensland cup, made 5 appearances broncos towards end of season before retiring.
