coming off divisional road win on dolphins, jets played week 2 home opener against afc east foe, new england patriots. jets had first opportunity score in first quarter, 31-yard field goal attempt new kicker jay feely wide right. new york trailed patriots kicker stephen gostkowski got 21-yard field goal. in second quarter, jets continued trail gostkowski kicked 37-yard field goal. brett favre got jets down 3-yard line, after 3 running plays resulting in 0 net yardage, jets settled 21-yard field goal on board.


in third quarter, new england capitalized on interception brandon meriweather off brett favre pass. patriots increased lead 6 plays later rb sammy morris got 1-yard td run , gostkowski nailed 28-yard field goal. in fourth quarter, jets tried rally qb brett favre completed 2-yard td pass wr chansi stuckey. however, patriots pulled away gostkowski s 27-yard field goal.


with loss, new york fell 1–1.
