hoping rebound divisional home loss patriots, jets flew qualcomm stadium week 3 mnf duel san diego chargers. in first quarter, new york took flight cb david barrett returned interception 25 yards touchdown. chargers responded kicker nate kaeding getting 36-yard field goal, along qb philip rivers completing 1-yard td pass fb mike tolbert. in second quarter, san diego increased lead cb antonio cromartie returning interception 52 yards touchdown. jets answered qb brett favre completing 3-yard td pass wr laveranues coles. turning point in game occurred on following kickoff, on-side kick, traveled 15 yards before chargers picked ball. added touchdown, rivers completing 27-yard td pass wr chris chambers. following interception, chargers scored again 6-yard td pass te antonio gates.


in third quarter, san diego increased lead rb ladainian tomlinson getting 2-yard td run. new york managed move ball down san diego 9-yard line, turned ball on over downs. in fourth quarter, new york tried rally favre completed 4-yard td pass wr chansi stuckey (with failed 2-point conversion), along kicker jay feely getting 32-yard field goal, yet chargers answered tomlinson s 2-yard td run. afterwards, jets tried make yet comeback attempt jerricho cotchery ran return ball 54 yards. favre completed 13-yard td pass te dustin keller put them within 2 touchdowns tying, yet san diego sealed win kaeding s 49-yard field goal 2:08 left in game.


with loss, new york fell 1–2.
