west negros college (wnc) founded in 1948 3 baptist women leaders - luciana aritao, teresa padilla , rosario remitio. believed school fulfill dream of filipinos embracing christian ideals , tenets. leodegario natividad agustin became school president in 1970s; provided impetus, despite financial odds, make west negros college successful academic community.


on february 11, 2008, commission on higher education found west negros college in full compliance of requirements , granted west negros college status university.


in april 2013, sti education systems holdings, inc. announced in disclosure had signed memorandum of agreement west negros university acquisition of controlling interest in school. acquisition done on october 31, 2013.


in 2015, sti college in nearby lacson street transferred , merged of operations newly renovated campus of west negros university in burgos street , changed institution s name sti west negros university.
