fibroids lead heavy vaginal bleeding lead anemia , iron deficiency. due pressure effects gastrointestinal problems such constipation , bloatedness possible. compression of ureter may lead hydronephrosis. fibroids may present alongside endometriosis, may cause infertility. adenomyosis may mistaken or coexist fibroids.
in rare cases, malignant (cancerous) growths, leiomyosarcoma, of myometrium can develop. in extremely rare cases uterine fibroids may present part or symptom of hereditary leiomyomatosis , renal cell cancer syndrome.
