metastatic prostate cancer (mpc) in men in combination gonadotropin-releasing hormone (gnrh) analogue or orchiectomy @ moderate doses
locally advanced prostate cancer (lapc) in men monotherapy in high doses

it can , used lesser extent following off-label (non-approved) indications:



androgen-dependent skin , hair conditions such acne, seborrhea, hirsutism, , pattern hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in women @ low doses, in combination oral contraceptive
hyperandrogenism such due polycystic ovary syndrome (pcos) or congenital adrenal hyperplasia (cah) in women
hormone therapy transgender women in combination estrogen
precocious puberty in boys in moderate doses, due familial male-limited precocious puberty (testotoxicosis)
priapism in men @ low low doses

it has been suggested has uncertain effectiveness in following indications:



hypersexuality , paraphilias, particularly in combination chemical castration

available forms

bicalutamide available treatment of prostate cancer in developed countries, including on 80 countries worldwide. available in 50 mg, 80 mg (in japan), , 150 mg tablets oral administration. drug registered use 150 mg/day monotherapy treatment of lapc in @ least 55 countries, u.s. being notable exception registered use @ dosage of 50 mg/day in combination castration. no other formulations or routes of administration available or used. formulations of bicalutamide indicated treatment of prostate cancer alone or in combination surgical or medication castration. combined formulation of bicalutamide , gnrh agonist goserelin in goserelin provided subcutaneous implant injection , bicalutamide included 50 mg tablets oral ingestion marketed in australia , new zealand under brand name zolacos cp (zoladex–cosudex combination pack).
