Cardinal numbers German grammar







the numbers zwei (two) , drei (three) (and other numbers well) have case endings in instances. adjective have weak endings, numbers not have endings. if adjective had strong endings, these numbers may have strong endings in genitive case



das haus zweier junger frauen ( house of 2 young women )

if there no other word carrying strong ending of genitive plural, numbers must carry it.



die reise dreier schwestern ( voyage of 3 sisters )

if these numbers center of nominal phrase in dative plural , no other word carries case markers, may carry dative endings.



zweien habe ich bananen gegeben ( have given bananas 2 (of them) )
