fares

fares metro , buses integrated, ticket entitling passenger complete trip, regardless of mode of transportation used or number of transfers required (within time frame of 120 minutes). tickets come in various forms: magnetized tickets, weekly , monthly magnetized cards , magnetized cards bus transfers inserted in appropriate card readers @ turnstiles in metro, , in terminals present when boarding bus. tickets reduced fares non-magnetized , must presented upon entry.


the entire stm network can accessed same fares, exception of metro stations located in laval (cartier, de la concorde , montmorency) , longueuil (longueuil–université-de-sherbrooke).


rates partially integrated of réseau de transport métropolitain (rtm). there 5 intermodal stations provide correspondence between metro , commuter trains. 4 of these stations on orange line (vendôme, lucien-l allier, bonaventure, de la concorde) , 1 on blue line (parc).


the stm accepts cash, tickets (for students , seniors), daily, weekly, , monthly passes. when ticket or cash fare used, free transfer can used trips in 1 direction completed within 2 hours. of january 1, 2013 basic fares shown below.



except cash, these , other fares stored on opus card. children 5 years of age , younger, accompanied adult, travel free. children under 5 cannot travel unaccompanied.

on april 21, 2008, stm unveiled contactless smart card called opus (a word phonetically includes french word puce, generic french word chip used in type smart card ) means of fare payment. in preparation new step in montreal s public transportation network, turnstiles incorporate reader , automated vending machines had been installed in metro stations; buses had been fitted new fare boxes incorporate card reader, in order ensure uniformity of methods of payment across montreal s transit network , of suburbs.

route information can accessed through variety of methods:



by telephone @ 514-288-6287 (which spells autobus on many telephone keypads);
online in several formats @ stm.info;
via systems capable of making use of general transit feed specification such google maps;
via sms.

each stop on each route assigned number , of these systems require user know number.

in 2014 stm introduce ibus, real-time gps tracking system. include electronic signs inside buses showing estimated time of arrival @ upcoming stops , busiest bus stops have electronic signs showing estimated time of arrival of next bus.

all 68 metro stations equipped métrovision information screens displays advertising, news headlines , weather information rdi , météomédia, stm-specific information regarding service changes, service delays , information pertaining using system.


accessibility

all 197 daytime bus routes , 23 night routes wheelchair accessible. however, 1 out of 4 metro lines accessible wheelchairs. orange line has 9 stations elevators installed : côte-vertu, lionel-groulx, bonaventure, champ-de-mars, berri-uqam, henri-bourassa, cartier, de la concorde, , montmorency.


jean-talon , snowdon stations have elevators installed beginning in 2013, , vendôme, mont-royal beginning in 2014, , rosemont beginning in 2015.
