while various infrastructure improvements planned regardless of outcome of los angeles olympic bid, extension of metro purple line expedited serve 2028 olympics, targeted completion date of 2024. first phase extend purple line wilshire/western station new wilshire/la cienega blvd. station. phase completed 2023. second phase extend purple line west los angeles va medical center in westwood completion date set 2024. second phase include station adjoining ucla campus, connecting olympic village , pauley pavilion venues in downtown los angeles.


in 2019, crenshaw/lax line open , completed 2021. link crenshaw district, inglewood , westchester once completed. crenshaw/lax line connect people mover being constructed link los angeles international airport aviation/96th street station. construction of people mover expedited in anticipation of 2028 olympics, completion date of 2024 being set.


the regional connector in downtown los angeles complete in 2021. project connect metro expo line, links venues in downtown santa monica venues @ exposition park , in downtown los angeles, metro gold line. allow direct rail service between santa monica , east los angeles. regional connector link metro blue line metro gold line, connecting long beach area , san gabriel valley via downtown.


these , other infrastructure improvements being funded measure m approved voters in november 2016.
