the jungle can find various reptiles , above ground animals such golden crocodiles or komodo dragon.

on june 20, 2008, shark reef @ mandalay bay received komodo dragon miami metrozoo. @ jungle temple exhibit @ aquarium.

after 10th birthday, added burmese python , 2 green tree monitors in jungle temple.

touch pool
within temple, shark reef offers touch pool attendees can have hands on approach of several marine species. common species found within touch pool include horseshoe crabs, , various rays. every , touch pool becomes temporary home baby zebra sharks.
shipwreck / main tank
the shipwreck tank, touted third largest in north america, home several endangered , threatened marine species including green sea turtles, sand tiger sharks, , green sawfish.
great hammerhead shark
shark reef aquarium first closed-system aquarium in north america exhibit great hammerhead shark. female juvenile less 4 feet long when accidentally caught off coast of florida. shark flown mandalay bay in august 2001 on record 16-hour flight in special transportation tank designed it. remained in private quarantine tank 2.5 years until in-house aquarium husbandry team decided had grown large enough not fall prey other sharks in exhibit tank. measured 6 feet long when introduced among big public fanfare 1.3 million gallon tank on november 3, 2003 public exhibition. after more year on exhibit, specimen died , unexpectedly on december 16, 2004. necropsy later attributed intestinal infection cause of death. specimen had grown 6.5 ft (2.0 m) , weighed in @ 95 lb (43 kg) @ time of death.
