the age of hell released in on august 16, 2011. frontman mark hunter states, words can’t express took create album. hope love as do. turn loud, chimaira @ [its] finest. album released in uk through metal hammer magazine. in november 2011, mark hunter released statement stating guitarists matt devries , rob arnold leaving chimaira after chimaira christmas 11. added leaving personal reasons . not received fans, many stated r.i.p. chimaira , death of chimaira.


it confirmed emil werstler replacing rob arnold lead guitarist, meanwhile matt szlachta dirge within , jeremy creamer dååth handling rhythm guitar , bass duties respectively.


on december 29, 2012, chimaira christmas 13 revealed new song upcoming 2013 album, titled despise . same day official teaser new album added youtube, titled chimaira 2013. on april 18, 2013, band released teaser video on youtube channel revealing album title, crown of phantoms, , release date, july 30, 2013.


on august 31, 2014, after show in merriam, ks, altercation ensued between mark hunter , rest of band witnessed several staff members of venue after fans had left. while no details known caused argument or over, signaled end of chimaira, lead guitarist emil werstler announced departure group next day. less 1 day after werstler announced departure, rhythm guitarist matt szlachta, keyboardist/vocalist sean zatorsky, bassist jeremy creamer, , drummer austin d armond jointly announced exit group well.


on september 4, 2014, mark hunter, remaining member, announced formal break-up of chimaira.
