coquitlam home of riverview hospital, large mental health facility, operating under governance of bc mental health & addiction services. riverview opened in 1913 , had 4,630 patients @ peak, advances in treatment , cutbacks in funding have resulted in fewer people receiving mental health care, , of facility has closed on last few decades.
