fraser health operates 352-bed royal columbian hospital south of coquitlam in new westminster. coquitlam residents served many privately owned health care clinics, while tri-cities health services operates 653 residential care beds.


coquitlam home of riverview hospital, large mental health facility, operating under governance of bc mental health & addiction services. riverview opened in 1913 , had 4,630 patients @ peak, advances in treatment , cutbacks in funding have resulted in fewer people receiving mental health care, , of facility has closed on last few decades.
