the township contains young america cemetery. young america cemetery association organized in 1896, forty shares of stock sold purchase grounds. first interment in cemetery byron stark, 5 years of age, died 26 june 1896. in 1898, association s stockholders asked village of hume take on cemetery , debts, village refused. in april 1960, voters of young america township voted support cemetery. current tool house , flagpole erected in 1960.
