pre-launch

the production of perodua s first sedan first hinted during 2010 kuala lumpur international motor show (klims), when perodua debuted concept model called bezza. 3 years later, concept model presented perodua during 2013 klims; time, called buddyz. both concept models designed in-house perodua s own design , styling division led muhamad zamuren musa, without referring existing daihatsu or toyota car models. production of perodua s first sedan approved in 2015 chief executive officer, datuk aminar rashid. production model draw inspiration buddyz concept model , codenamed d63d.

the bezza first perodua model isn t directly based on pre-existing toyota or daihatsu model. perodua lead styling , development of bezza s upper body structure, technical support daihatsu. perodua claims bezza has 95% local content, , developed @ cost of rm 300 million. however, perodua did not develop bezza scratch, powered toyota-engineered engines , based on daihatsu-engineered axia platform. unlike rival proton, perodua able develop first sedan model secretly without public knowledge. perodua bezza competes proton saga in home market.

launch

the perodua bezza launched on 21 july 2016. 3 variants on sale, namely standard g, premium x , advance.

the standard g variant equipped 14-inch eight-spoke alloy rims, fabric seats, polyurethane steering wheel, audio system usb, handphone or smartphone slot @ rear console, fixed rear seat headrests, 60:40 split folding rear seats, remote boot release, manual side mirrors without turn signals, body-mounted signal indicators, , power windows.

the premium x variant adds on upgraded audio system bluetooth, 5v/2a usb charging port (at rear console), adjustable rear seat headrests, manual side mirrors turn signals, keyless entry push start/stop ignition, chrome-plated door handles, side mirror indicators , front fog lamps.

the advance variant fitted 14-inch five-spoke alloy rims, powered , retractable side mirrors turn signals, side skirting, eco idle stop-start system, reverse camera, touchscreen multimedia audio system navigation , android smart link. advance variant receives additional minor details, replacing fabric seats , polyurethane steering wheel leather. steering wheel has been provided multimedia system controls.

sales

perodua has achieved promising sales bezza, total of 5,000 bookings received new model on first day after launch. during perodua s first half of 2016 review, announced had received 10,115 bookings of morning of july 26, averages out 1,000 cars per day since bezza first opened booking on july 16. on august 30, perodua reported had delivered 10,000 bezzas, bookings @ 25,000.

april 2017 updates

in beginning of april 2017, perodua bezza updated rear bumper given deeper skirt variants. premium x , advance variant got chrome platinum trim on air-conditioning controls , advance variant gains new leather upholstery without previous quilting.

international markets

on 1 may 2017, perodua announced launch of 4 bezza variants mauritius market capitalize on mauritius status popular international tourist destination.

singapore

perodua bezza sold in singapore via perocom auto pte. ltd.

sri lanka

on 7 june 2017, bezza 1.0l (automatic transmission) made debut in sri lanka @ launch organised perusahaan otomobil kedua sdn bhd s (perodua) official distributor, unimo enterprises ltd.
