the archbishop s house, @ 27 maraval road, official residence of archbishop of port of spain, which, of 2016, reverend joseph everard harris, cssp. built in 1903 patrick vincent flood, fifth archbishop of port of spain. @ time other residences being built on maraval road wealthy french creoles. building, designed irish architect in indian empire architectural style, had chapel , sacristy on first floor. porch wraps around building. on east façade, there porte-cochère wide bay , 6 additional, narrower bays. west side has 9 bays, , there 6 bays on south , north façades. property had summer house , stables, accessed extended gallery on west side of main building. construction completed in 1904 george brown of trinidad trading company.


it remodeled extensively 1968 1969, based upon architectural design of sonny sellier. chancery built in west side of building , new apartment built @ site of summer house , stables. in cases, renovations deviated original aesthetic of architectural design. instance, aluminum sliding doors replaced double wooden doors on ground floor. contractor rev father kevin devenish. monsignor anthony pantin, first trinidadian-born archbishop, lived in house after renovation completed in 1969. listed heritage site , protected under national trust act.
