after blue line operated, taichung city government planned extensions: 1 route extending west wuqi (梧棲), dajia (大甲), 1 taichung airport, , extending east taichung station taiping (太平). extensions have added 18 kilometers (11 mi) route, making entire line 35-kilometer (22 mi) long. other brt lines planned constructed. orange line have spanned shalu district wufeng district, passing through daya, beitun, north, central, , dali districts. these plans discarded upon decision shut down brt system in 2015.
