1936-built cessna c-34 airmaster @ blackpool (squires gate) airport in 1950


in middle of 1930s, great depression came end, u.s. economy began strengthen. news cessna aircraft company dwane wallace (clyde cessna s nephew graduated aeronautical engineer) decided assist uncle in building more modern airplanes. design of first airmaster credited wallace, , first flight of c-34 model in june 1935. not long after introduction of c-34, clyde cessna retired aircraft-building activity, leaving company nephew.
