hayes court, @ 21 maraval road, built residence anglican bishop trinidad. anonymous gift made in 1908 2 men pay construction of building, built in french colonial architectural style. design incorporates contemporary scottish cast iron elements in decorative beams , columns veranda, wrap around west side of house. on western façade of building traditional demerara windows. completed taylor , gillies in 1910. residence named bishop thomas hayes, served archbishop in trinidad , tobago 1889 1904. right reverend john francis welsh first resident. listed heritage site , protected under national trust act.
