history

the members not know name of band originated from. błażej król says: “to honest, myself have no idea name kawałek kulki comes from. born spontaneously, result of brainstorming. can make own story.”

2001-2005: beginning

the band formed in 2001 in wieprzyce, 1 of districts of gorzów wielkopolski, paweł turłaj, magdalena’s brother, played along guitarist błażej król. in 2002 , 2003 band won music contest organized city cultural centre in gorzów wielkopolski. in 2003 first ep, wybucha bomba, released.

in 2004 kawałek kulki won both audience , best lyrics prize @ rock festival in gorzów wielkopolski. after, made debut on radio zachód song kolegi tata jest policjantem, featured on second ep wyprawa w poszukiwaniu raf koralowych rzeki warty z kawałkiem kulki w kieszeni, released in autumn 2004. in 2005 ep, entitled radio wieprzyce, released.

2007–present: kawałek kulki

in january 2007 band performed in hometown during local finale of wielka orkiestra Świątecznej pomocy (the great orchestra of christmas charity). in march błażej król received music scholarship mayor of gorzów wielkopolski. debut longplay album kawałek kulki released on november 9, 2007 luna music . album, consisted of 14 songs, received favourable critical reaction.

the music served kawałek kulki on debut album same name of band: surrealistic, gently absurd, evoking magical atmosphere of children’s frolics , @ same time intriguing , inventive. […] kawałek kulki on 1 occasion sounds folk , on rock or jazz above sounds natural. them that.

a piece of positive, nicely twisted music. lot of songs on 1 album , potential hits rather not radio hits. it’s worth listening to.

at same time band accused of monotony.

the longer listen kawałek kulki more monotonous subsequent melodies become. sounds rather similar, repetitive , taking consideration fact band has enormous potential, effect opposite intended created. kind of “overcomplication” sneaks in, maybe excess of means of expression.

on 5th of november band performed in s-1 concert studio of szczecin polish radio, presenting material new album. in august 2008 kawałek kulki played on forest stage during 1st day of off festival held in mysłowice.

in july 2009 song bajka, created on basis of tadeusz gajcy’s poem, included in album gajcy released honour 65th anniversary of poet’s death. apart kawałek kulki, on album appeared other artists, including kazik staszewski, pogodno, maleo reggae rockers, pustki, dezerter , lech janerka. moreover, of musicians performed on 25th of july in wolności park in warsaw uprising museum during concert promoting material album.
