for 1967, matra decided use 1.9-litre version of brm formula 1 v8 engine. (capable of producing 245 hp (183 kw; 248 ps) @ 9,000 rpm.) matra planned have johnny servoz-gavin/jean-pierre jaussaud drive ms630 @ both 1967 1000 km of spa , 1967 1000km of nürburgring entries both races withdrawn. ms630 made 1 appearance in 1967, 24 hours of le mans. matra entered 2 cars servoz-gavin/jean-pierre beltoise , jaussaud/henri pescarolo. servoz-gavin/beltoise retired broken oil pipe , jaussaud/pescarolo retired broken suspension.

the first race of season 1969 24 hours of daytona servoz-gavin/pescarolo car did not start race due practice accident. team skipped 12 hours of sebring , boac 500. matra entered 1000 km of monza servoz-gavin/jean guichet retired race fuel feed issue. team skipped 1969 targa florio. matra planned have servoz-gavin/beltoise , guichet ( scheduled drive single handed) @ 1969 1000 km of spa entry race withdrawn , skipped 1969 1000 km of nürburgring. matra entered 4 cars 24 hours of le mans. jean-pierre beltoise/piers courage in new matra-simca ms650, jean guichet/nino vaccarella in ms630, nanni galli/robin widdows , johnny servoz-gavin/herbert müller both in updated matra-simca ms630/650 (a ms630 car parts ms650). beltoise/courage finished fourth followed guichet/vaccarella in fifth, galli/widdows seventh , servoz-gavin/müller retired when electrical short circuit failed. watkins glen 6 hours, matra entered 2 cars servoz-gavin/pedro rodriguez in ms650 , guichet/widdows in ms630/650. servoz-gavin/rodriguez finished fourth , guichet/widdows retired broken clutch. ms630 retired before 1000km of zeltweg.
