in 1990 hancock missed one-off test against france hamstring injury, regained spot on wing test against new zealand in wellington scored try in australia s 24-6 win. selected 1990 kangaroo tour of great britain , france @ end of 1990 nswrl season. unfortunately, ankle injury suffered in australia’s 19-14 loss great britain in first test loss @ wembley, london limited him 6 games on english leg of tour , lost test spot broncos teammate dale shearer. first test loss of disaster hancock opposite winger paul eastwood crossed 2 of lions 3 tries on day. although returned action, before second ashes series test, scoring try in 36-18 win on halifax, shearer s form such (scoring try in aussies 14-10 win @ old trafford in second test) hancock unable regain test spot remainder of tour.


in 1991 overlooked mid-season trans tasman tests against new zealand, nor gain spot on end of season tour of papua new guinea. later regained test spot , played in 3 ashes tests against great britain during 1992 great britain lions tour of australia , new zealand, helping australia retain ashes. @ end of year hancock member of broncos team defeated st george dragons 28-8 in 1992 winfield cup grand final. traveled england played on wing in australia s 10-6 win on great britain in 1992 world cup final in front of 73,631 fans @ wembley stadium, london. hancock had solid game in wcf, keeping st. helens winger alan hunte quiet. week after final, hancock scored 2 tries in brisbane s 22-8 victory on english champions wigan in 1992 world club challenge @ central park. in winning broncos became first australian team win world club challenge on british soil.


hancock made second tour of new zealand in 1993, playing 3 tests of 1993 trans-tasman series , scoring 5th , final test try in third test @ lang park. played in brisbane s second consecutive premiership win in 1993, again defeating st george in grand final. during 1994 nswrl season, hancock played @ centre brisbane when lost 20-14 against wigan in 1994 world club challenge in front of wcc record attendance of 54,220 @ brisbane s anz stadium.


michael hancock played last test australia in 1994 against france in 58-0 win @ parramatta stadium in sydney. called team after injury ruled out broncos teammate willie carne, hancock didn t score in game made number of breaks , had hapless french grasping @ air trying tackle him. after being selected second kangaroo tour in 1994, test career ended when injured shoulder in training mishap week before first ashes test @ wembley. in case of déjà vu 1990, return field before tour ended, wasn t able regain test place either on tour or in following years.
