the regulations describe 3 categories of military service, active duty, active duty training, , inactive duty training. eligibility va disability compensation requires veteran s service occurred during 1 of these 3 categories. definition of active duty military service includes service @ time cadet @ united states military, air force, or coast guard academy, or midshipman @ united states naval academy.
