Plot Right at Your Door

the film opens brad (rory cochrane), out-of-work musician, making coffee wife, lexi (mary mccormack), still in bed. leaves work , brad left home alone. on radio, hears several suspected dirty bombs have been detonated across los angeles. exits house , sees large amounts of smoke rising city. brad gets car , drives city find lexi. brad tries contact through cell phone, receives busy signal. finds roads have police blockades.

an ash-covered car stopped police. 1 officer notices brad watching inside car , goes on him tell him go home. police officers aim weapons @ driver gets out , demand car. ignores warning , shot down police. brad decides leave , go home when encounters small boy called timmy (scotty noyd, jr.), watching rising smoke city. brad tells him run home, , continues house.

once home, brad sees alvaro (tony perez), in house. alvaro asks brad if can stay him there no 1 @ neighbor s house working. on radio, hear survivors of blasts being quarantined due bombs deadly toxins, , authorities advise people seal homes before toxins reach them. brad , alvaro proceed seal house duct tape , plastic. becomes increasingly more obvious lexi might not come home, takes of lexi s clothes , leaves them outside door food , water. radio newscasts claim bombs contained several toxins , unknown viral strain.

lexi has been involved in car crash still alive. walks home, still covered in dust. brad, sees her, realizes infect both himself , alvaro not let in. lexi becomes desperate after being locked out. loses temper , throws cell phone @ 1 of door panes, breaking it. brad , alvaro both rush cover breakage , seal off. together, manage calm lexi down.

brad seals off main bedroom rest of house lexi can it. lexi receives call mother, realizes near explosion , infected. pleas lexi go hospital fall on deaf ears lexi tells rest of country seeing news doesn t reflect truth of situation. car alarm goes off nearby, , timmy seen next it. lexi calls him on , brad seals off part of house in order lexi , timmy clean off ash in bathroom. alvaro decides leave house, saying needs wife. brad tries convince him stay, alvaro leaves anyway , seen walking away through downpour of toxic ash.

lexi hears noise , alerts brad. masked man appears, introduces himself rick (jon huertas). tells lexi there ship on coast has medical supplies , helping people. lexi, rick, , timmy leave , brad hears newscasts on radio elaborate on unknown viral straining, saying hybrid , attacks respiratory system. same night brad visited corporal marshall (max kasch) , men. asks brad several questions, such how house has been sealed, else or been there, , if there has been contact between him , on outside. brad mentions phone lexi threw door window , corporal demands sample of dust off phone. tells brad results , wife under no circumstances should let house. leaves, heard reciting home s address, , saying, red tag.

lexi returns home next day without timmy or rick , sees red tag placed outside house. lexi tells brad timmy treated other children , saw police assault , arrest 5 people. lexi calls brother, jason, (will mccormack) can have talk due mother being frantic worry.

the next couple of hours spent brad , lexi on respective sides of door, talk assuming survive. brad imagines after both end on 1 of morning talk shows goes reveal woes. suddenly, soldiers appear , grab lexi, , prevent brad coming outside. 1 soldier manages calm brad down , explains him because did such job sealing house, there no new air circulate through, explains that, unfortunately, when lexi broke door window, virus brought inside , has multiplied lethal levels, making air inside extremely dangerous. brad doesn t understand soldier saying , insists bring wife back. large heavy piece of plywood put on door, covering it. hole drilled through wood , pipe appears through gas starts pumped in. more boards seal windows , doors brad manages break down plywood covering front door, discover fumigation tent has been erected on whole house. tries tear through tent , knocked unconscious soldier, lexi screams brad s name. camera cuts brad takes last few breaths.

lexi later seen sitting in ambulance, being attended nurse. film ends lexi in shock anything, cell phone ringing.
