mille fleurs @ 23 maraval road built , named wife of dr enrique prada (1867 venezuela–1944 trinidad) in 1904. dr prada oversaw construction of french provincial house george brown of trinidad trading company. pradas lived in house until 1923, when sold joseph salvatori. remained in family until salvatori s daughter, mrs pierre lelong sold george malouk in 1973. sold government of trinidad , tobago in june 1979.


it served several purposes on years , under jurisdiction of ministry of culture until june 2000, when assigned ministry of environment. national trust states, although mille fleurs less ostentatious of neighbours, quality of finish , detailing perhaps of far higher quality; intricately carved balusters , marble treads , risers both main , secondary staircases, elaborate cast iron columns , brackets. however, after period of time when not occupied or maintained, has deteriorated significantly. listed heritage site , protected under national trust act.
