star swamp bushland reserve bushland reserve occupying half of land area of suburbs of watermans bay , north beach. precise origin of name unknown, earliest known use of name on lease application j.h.okely of wanneroo in 1868. also, long history indigenous (noongar?) peoples camping area. fresh water , abundant bush/seafood. signs of people still there.


in 1987, state government set aside 96 hectares a-class reserve, , funding bicentennial commemorative program , assistance local organisations facilitated establishment of star swamp heritage trail within reserve.
