during time in employ of jean de berry (after 1386), beauneveu known have produced several sculptures castle @ mehun , chapel of ducal palace @ bourges. surviving fragment mehun large bearded head in musée de louvre. belonged 1 of twelve apostle statues have stood against pillars inside palace chapel @ mehun (similar ones in ste chapelle in paris). have argued head work of beauneveu s successor, jean de cambrai, though weight of opinion favours beauneveu or workshop.
the work beauneveu carried out on sculptural , painted decorations @ mehun highly regarded contemporaries jean de berry s brother, philip of burgundy, sent own court artists claus sluter , jean de beaumetz visit building site in 1393.
