the alameda county library bookmobile library on wheels books, magazines, music cds, cdroms, videos, dvds , books on cassette , cd children, teens, , adults. bookmobile visits schools , neighborhoods once every 2 weeks.


youth services

the booklegger program dedicated promoting independent reading children visiting classrooms, , introducing selected books.
the homework program provides students homework assistance during after-school hours. albany, castro valley, dublin, newark, san lorenzo , union city libraries have homework centers.

adult services

the homeword bound program consists of volunteers trained older adults services bring library seniors , others unable visit local branch library.

jail services

alameda county library provides library service , literacy/life skills instruction men , women held in county jails. of materials circulated each year donated members of community.

reading life (rfl) intensive , comprehensive 16-week self-sufficiency skills training academy pre-release, low-literacy level inmates in alameda county jail system.
the jail tutoring program trains , assigns volunteer literacy tutors english-speaking inmates in alameda county jail read , write below eighth grade level.
