the fox , crow starred in several funny animal comic books published dc comics, 1940s 1960s. starred other characters in dc s columbia-licensed funny animal anthology real screen comics (first issue titled real screen funnies) beginning in 1945, did likewise when dc converted superhero title comic cavalcade funny-animal series in 1948.


the duo received own title, fox , crow, ran 108 issues (jan. 1952 - march 1968). until 1954 demise of comic cavalcade, fox , crow cover-featured on 3 dc titles. continued on cover of real screen comics through title change tv screen cartoons #129-138 (aug. 1959 - feb. 1961), final issue.


the fox , crow renamed stanley , monster beginning #109 (may 1968), after back-up feature, begun in #95 (jan. 1966), had taken on in popularity. last ten years of existence, fox , crow written cecil beard, assisted wife, alpine harper. illustrator jim davis (b. 1915), although unsigned.


deadshot s daughter mentions wanting fox , crow umbrella in secret 6 #1 (july 2006).
