integrabase used modify basecourse of kabul-kandahar highway in 2003. integrabase enabled louis berger group modify original pavement design road, eliminating sub layer of aggregate , decreasing original basecourse thickness of 14 inches 8 inches. use of modifier, louis berger group able use local aggregates in mix design. estimated use of integrabase product saved $90 million project reduction of asphalt used, use of river run-gravel, , decreased time of construction.


the kabul-kandahar highway in major disrepair due on 2 decades of war , neglect. united states funded repair , rebuilding of 389 kilometers of road, while japan funded 50 kilometers. 43 kilometers of highway usable prior repairs. rebuilding project overseen louis berger group, assistance in planning , design turkish , indian engineers. phase 1 of paving completed in december 2003 , highway opened traffic. journey used take travelers 2 days takes 6 hours.
