unveiling war memorial fountain in springsure state school, 6 december 1919


on 6 december 1919, springsure state school memorial fountain dedicated mrs annie wheeler (née laurie), former pupil @ school. memorial marble fountain , commemorates students of school served in world war i.


on 16 november 1943 douglas c-47a skytrain broke in mid-air during violent storm in area, , crashed on rewan station, south of spingsure. 19 people on board aircraft perished in crash.


today, springsure pastoral settlement serving cattle farms, , sunflower, sorghum, wheat , chickpea plantations.


springsure state school opened on 14 march 1870.
