in past 10 years, there have been number of high-level contacts between 2 nations, including brazilian parliamentary delegation visit greece, reciprocal visit greek parliamentary delegation, meeting between 2 ministers of foreign affairs, , visit greek prime minister on occasion of eu lac summit meeting in rio de janeiro in 1999.


the meeting of 2 foreign ministers in april 2009 first time brazilian foreign minister had visited greece in official capacity. greece s dora bakoyannis , brazil s celso amorim discussed opportunities joint endeavours , further cooperation in fields of tourism, aircraft building, shipping, agriculture , general trade. greece has pledged support brazil s bid permanent place on permanent seat on united nations security council while brazil has committed support greece in receiving post @ human rights council in 2013.
