september 21 - government celebrates barangay day/national thanksgiving day commemorate declaration of martial law, thousands of aquino s supporters hold national day of sorrow , call unity in ranks topple marcos regime.

1984

may 14 - elections batasang pambansa (parliament) held. united nationalist democratic organization (unido) , partido demokratiko pilipino-lakas ng bayan (pdp-laban) coalition decide take part. aquino s widow, corazón, throws support behind opposition candidates, surprise marcos winning 56 seats out of 183 amidst familiar allegations of fraud.
october 24 - agrava board, fact-finding commission tasked investigating aquino assassination, concludes there military conspiracy behind killing , implicates armed forces chief of staff, gen. fabián ver.

1985

february 22 - general ver, 24 soldiers, , 1 civilian stand trial before sandiganbayan aquino murder. ver takes leave of absence armed forces chief of staff.
august - opposition mps file motion impeachment against marcos in batasan, citing culpable violation of constitution , hidden wealth. majority party squelches motion.
november 3 - marcos announces holding of snap elections after alleged prodding united states.

december 3 - corazon aquino declares candidacy president. salvador laurel, earlier has wanted run same position, agrees running mate.
december 5 - opposition makes formal announcement of aquino-laurel tandem snap elections.

february 7

unbeknown ver, singson in process of defecting rebel group. singson sends men radio veritas, not destroy, reconnoiter area.

cardinal jaime sin goes on air , calls people please, not alarmed, stay home.

the rebel group taken aback cardinal s announcement , calls him clarify request. asked him send people camps.


9:00 pm

cardinal sin goes on air once more , says leave homes ...i ask support mr. enrile , gen. ramos, give them food if like, our friends.

10:00am: soldiers philippine army , philippine marine corps fort bonifacio , other camps began deployed in opposition rebel forces. mounted on m35 carrier trucks, lvt-5s, m113s , aifvs , v150s, were, afternoon, stopped massive crowd, nuns , clergy @ front.
3:00pm: pmc armored contingent halts in full view of crowd along ortigas avenue in ortigas cbd, pasig. later pull back. radio veritas had earlier learned of planned attack on camps.
3:10pm: corazon aquino arrives in manila cebu
11:00pm: radio veritas signs off,due difficulties in elecrtricity,june keithley , station staff takeover dzrj radio headquarters in santa mesa, manila, along ramon magsaysay boulevard, planning restart transmissions @ midnight

5:30am: first teargas attack on people personnel of philippine marines along santolan road.
8:30am: ramos famous jump on pc-inp headquarters in camp crame, in full view of people , media

as president marcos makes tv appearance, mbs channel 4 taken on reformist soldiers of afp , signs off studios , facilities @ abs-cbn broadcasting center captured

channel 4 restarts transmissions people s television ex-abs-cbn corporation technicians supervising, within minutes radio veritas moves complex restarting transmissions

within minutes of annoucement of departure of marcos family, president aquino makes first ever live address nation chief executive via channel 4


9:45pm

pro-aquino crowds force opening of malacanang palace gates, open thousands of aquino supporters , participants of revolution storm palace complex little resistance
